Malawi has a rich cultural mix of tribes. English the official language and is used in government and business. The main National language is Chichewa, the Chewa tribe being the most numerous tribes mostly found in the central region of Malawi, among other tribes are the Yao, Tumbuka, Lomwe, Nyanja, Ngoni, Sukwa, Nkhonde, Sena, Mang’anja, Tonga and others. The Tumbuka are dominant in the northern region and most of the people in the southern are the Lomwes. The common edible form of food is Nsima which is milled maize or cassava, the relish mostly comprises of Chambo caught our fresh water lakes. Christianity is the most prevalent religion in Malawi, though some inhabitants follow a mix and traditional tribal belief system.
