Regional Offices have the overall responsibility for:
Licensing and inspection (including collection of fees) of all tourism related facilities and services in their respective regions
Collection of the marketing levy
Collection and collation of statistical information from tourism related facilities and services within the region as determined by the Planning & Development Section
Working with tourism representatives from each District to identify potential tourism projects
Assisting in the development and promotion of local cultural events
Working with local communities to determine how they can be involved in the tourism sector
Promoting development opportunities within their region
Evaluating proposed development projects for compatibility with national development objectives and priorities;
Advising local operators of tourism related facilities on operational and marketing issues – calling on assistance from Head Office where required;
Supervising the activities of any tourist information offices within the region
Keeping the Director of Tourism fully appraised of the status of the sector in their Region.
