Regional Offices have the overall responsibility for:
- Licensing and inspection (including collection of fees) of all tourism related facilities and services in their respective regions
- Collection of the marketing levy
- Collection and collation of statistical information from tourism related facilities and services within the region as determined by the Planning & Development Section
- Working with tourism representatives from each District to identify potential tourism projects
- Assisting in the development and promotion of local cultural events
- Working with local communities to determine how they can be involved in the tourism sector
- Promoting development opportunities within their region
- Evaluating proposed development projects for compatibility with national development objectives and priorities;
- Advising local operators of tourism related facilities on operational and marketing issues – calling on assistance from Head Office where required;
- Supervising the activities of any tourist information offices within the region
- Keeping the Director of Tourism fully appraised of the status of the sector in their Region.
