As a way of conserving culture, each tribe perform traditional dances which are unique compared to other countries. The most popular traditional dance is Gule Wankulu performed by the Chewa People and it has been recognized by UNESCO. Other traditional dances are Tchopa, Ingoma, Beni, Mganda and many more. Most Malawian tribes have their own songs, commonly use instruments include drums, mambrilira (similar to a xylophone) and a variety of rattles.
